Ideal for beach weddings, Lanzarote is located around 60 miles off the coast of North Africa, it is one of 7 Canary Islands. The climate is sub-tropical with temperatures around 25-30 degrees for the majority of the year. For this reason many choose this island for their weddings abroad.
The island was formed some 11 million years ago by volcanic eruptions, the last being Timanfaya around 300 years ago which has become one of the islands many attractions where it is possible to witness first hand, the incredible heat still being produced. The island is popular for many sports enthusiasts including scuba-diving, wind surfing, surfing, cycling and much more.
The beaches are safe and are recognised throughout Europe as being clean and beautiful. There are many places to visit, quaint little villages and rugged landscape to explore and there are still donkeys to be seen working in the fields and even the occasional camel.
Lanzarote’s architecture reflects the islands distinct beauty, which has been highly influenced by the renowned artist Cesar Manrique. Also, the Island has been declared a protected Biosphere by the Canarian Government.
